At Ranelagh Dental we have a great understanding that coming to the dentist can be a daunting prospect for some patients, whether it's from a previous bad experience or worry about certain treatments.
We strongly encourage you come in to us.
Dental diseases of the teeth and gums get worse with time and may only require a simple treatment to fix them. We always like to meet our patients before doing any treatment so recommend you book in for an examination.
For this appointment the dentist only has to look in your mouth and will then discuss the treatment you need. We can make a treatment plan that is broken down to make each visit manageable for you.
All our dentists are experienced in dealing with nervous patients and will never push you out of your comfort zone to have a treatment done that we don't think you will manage.
Websites such as www.dentalfearcentral.org are excellent resources for anxious patients to receive support from similar people and caring dental professionals.
Dental Conscious Sedation
Sedation is one way of making the treatment visits a little easier and can be provided orally.
Oral sedation is prescribed by the dentist at the examination appointment and requires you to take a tablet the night before and another 1 hour before your treatment appointment.
This helps you to relax and makes the treatment more manageable.
If you would like further information, or feel that you could benefit from conscious sedation, please contact the clinic where one of our reception team can discuss this further with you.
